Greeting St. Paul's Family!
I was just there...and saw the general area where the sermon on the mount was delivered. But as much as the location is neat to consider, the message is timeless to consider. And this Sunday we refresh on the incredible teacher God sent us in his Son, and the powerful word he blesses us with. How blessed we are!

For two months out of the year, the city of Barrow, one of the northernmost cities in Alaska, is completely dark. It is difficult for us to imagine living in complete darkness. But that is our natural spiritual condition. That was how the people in Galilee were living: in darkness and the shadow of death. Yet Jesus came for them and went to spend time among them. This has great importance for our life and for understanding Jesus’ ministry. Today, we look to “Christ Revealed As The Light”. Our sermon is on Matthew 4.

The last couple weekends of Epiphany, God has revealed that Jesus came for both Jews and Gentiles, including you and me. Today, God reveals how dire our situation was. Because of our sin, we needed a sacrifice, the shedding of blood, death. But it had to be a special sacrifice. Only God could take away the sins of all people. So John points his disciples to Jesus. Andrew brought his brother Simon to Jesus. We can tell others as well, so that they also may see ”Christ Revealed as the Lamb of God”. Our sermon is based on Colossians 2.

In the month of January, there are usually inaugurations as public servants in government begin their terms. These ceremonies make it clear that they were the choice for that particular office. On this first Sunday in Epiphany, God makes his choice very clear. He chose Jesus to be the Christ, the long-promised Savior who would serve as our Prophet, Priest, and King. Today we see ”Christ Revealed at his Baptism”. Our sermon is based on Acts 10.

Greetings St. Paul's Family!
I greet you that way because that is what we are in Christ...and today our Savior makes that clear. Gentiles are not outsiders, second class citizens, or worse, rejected from the gospel. Far be it! We are under the same grace, the same Lord, and are recipients of the same promise to salvation in Jesus Christ. So come and worship him with one another!
God bless your worship of the Savior Jesus who revealed this to us at Epiphany!

We don’t like to wait. Whether it’s shipping delays on important parts or the people with overflowing shopping carts ahead of us in line at the store, we get impatient. And all the more when there is difficulty and discomfort in the meantime. John the Baptist needed to hear it. Job and the prophets needed to hear it. So do we: “Be Patient! The Lord is Coming.” Our sermon is based on Matthew 11.

Greetings St. Paul's Family and Friends, The day is coming where you will meet your Lord Jesus. On that day he won't be in swaddling clothes. He'll be wrapped in glory as the God-man he is. _How will you be?_ Will you be surprised at his grandeur? Will you be caught off guard by your sin? Or will you be prepared by faith and dressed in Christ's success freely given you through the means of grace? For that to happen God steers us away from our sin to prepare for that meeting with the term, "Repent." May we take it to heart and take him to heart! God's blessings, Pastor Mueller
