Mary wondered where they put Jesus. Peter and John raced to the tomb. Where was Jesus' body? Who took him? Where did they put him? They were confused and searching. Easter is about finding what we need most. It's Jesus. He appeared to Mary and called her by name. He came to the women. Jesus appears to us in his Word and gives us what we need most: confidence that our sins have been taken away by his sacrifice at the cross, assurance that his promises are faithful, and the certain hope that we too shall rise from the dead. Christ is risen! He is risen indeed! Our sermon this weekend is from Exodus 15. The LORD is our salvation.

Greetings St. Paul's family -
This weekend is the celebration of Palm Sunday. What is Palm Sunday? It 's the approach of Jesus as king indicating his willingness and determination to conquer the enemy of sin, Satan, and death. It's also the grand reception offered him by the people as they declared Hosannah - a term that means, "save now". The people cut palm branches and waved them at Jesus. That was their way of recognizing God has come down to help his people. Best of all was the way in which Jesus came - like no other - as he approached with humility and so gentle.

As the time draws closer for Jesus’ death, tension builds between him and the Jewish leadership. He warns that rejecting him brings a crushing blow, for he will be established as the stone which upholds the Church. God’s people have consistently faced hardship and dismissal - and often deserved it. Yet in Christ, the Lord Reestablishes the Rejected. Our sermon is based on Psalm 73.

Dear worshippers of the Triune God -
The parable Jesus tells us today is incredible. Even if you grew up with a very poor home life, there isn't one sinner who doesn't long inwardly to be in this incredible and blessed home, the home of heaven. The problem is it is so hard to turn from the circumstances before us and return to our heavenly Father. Why? It means admitting our wrongs. It leaves us exposed...how is he going to treat us? How is he going to receive us? What will the rest of the family think about our presence again when we return?
The story of the Prodigal Son _hits home_ for us as we see a Father's unconditional love, our Father's gracious forgiveness, and the restored relationship he places on us.
Come home to the Triune God this weekend!
God bless you all -

It's easy to fall into the trap of becoming your own prophet. What does that mean? Sometimes we find ourselves reading between the lines of circumstances and snapping to judgments...about God. "This bad thing happened to that person, so that must mean..." "A tornado took place in this location and destroyed this so that must mean that God..." It doesn't necessarily work that way. Assuming that human tragedy is the result of specific sin is not prophetically reading God's mind and thoughts! Instead, the theme of the day reminds us in all circumstances to humble ourselves and repent for our sin. We'll find God in the gospel. He promises to be there. In the gospel he lets us in on his thoughts so we don't need to guess. We know exactly what he thinks of us in Jesus.
God bless your worship of the great I Am this weekend.

Last weekend Jesus displayed his amazing focus in fending off Satan's temptations. This weekend Jesus digs even deeper and displays his determination to go to Jerusalem and die for us as well as his compassion on unwilling people. Our sermon is based on Luke 13:31-35.

The first Sunday in Lent is always a test. Jesus is intensely tested in the gospel lesson by the worst fallen angel - Satan himself. The struggle deepens as we see Jesus hasn't eaten anything for many days. Instead of capitulating to temptation, he clings to Scripture for his sure defense. At every turn our salvation is on the line and Jesus holds the line! What a Savior we have who has been tested in every way, just as we are, yet was without sin.
As Jesus held the line, may we too keep the faith in the one who knows us, sees our weakness, and still loves to forgive us our sins.

This weekend is the final Sunday in Epiphany, where we see Jesus revealed as the Son of God and Savior of the world. We will climb the mountain with Jesus and a few disciples and see him in all his glory as he makes plans to fulfill his mission at the cross in Jerusalem. This glorious sight prepares us to bear our crosses and face dark times. Our sermon is based on Luke 9.

Greetings everyone! We are coming to the end of the season of Epiphany where we see Jesus revealed as our powerful Savior. In our sermon series through the season we have looked at the ways he leads us to gather and grow from him. Today is no different...if anything, it is just direct. "Let's not give up meeting together!" It doesn't get any simpler than that! For this and other encouragements we gather today to hear our Savior's voice and take him at his word. May the Lord bless you richly because of him! Pastor Mueller
