Leaders in our world will often sit down for an interview. They will meet with a reporter, who asks them questions to understand who they are, what they stand for, and why they do what they do. Today, we get to listen in on an interview as our King reveals himself, his purpose, his accomplishments and conquests, his concern and care for us. In prophecy and song, on trial and in letter, we get to know the eternal, all-powerful, faithful and benevolent King. He is our King, Christ the King. Our sermon is based on Revelation 1. Jesus says that the times leading up to the end of the world will have more distress than at any other point in human history. Persecution and false teachers and natural disasters. Hatred and suffering and wars. And the end of what we see now is that God's people die. Yet today God reminds us that in the end, his people win. We share his victory. The Saints are Triumphant! Everyone will know when the Lord comes down with the clouds and sends his angels to gather believers. And we will be with the Lord forever. God's encouragement for us today comes from 1 Thessalonians 4.

This weekend we peek ahead to two key events: our last breath on earth and departure from it, and our Lord's first breath back on earth on the last day. The Scriptures proclaim the saving faith in which we stand firm and assured to meet our great Savior!

Disaster often catches people off guard. The eruption of Mt. Vesuvius. The bombing of Pearl Harbor. The flooding from Hurricane Katrina. Jesus warns that in the times leading up to his return, there will be false teachers, wars, and all kinds of disasters. By the time of Martin Luther 500 years ago, most of Christianity was enveloped in false teaching. Ottoman armies were advancing toward Europe. Plague could wipe out over half a village, and famines were devastating. But just as Jesus promised, the gospel would be preached. Jesus does not want us to be caught off-guard. So today, we pay attention to his Reformation Warning. Our sermon is from Jeremiah 18.

Rivalries are all around us: the Packers and the Bears, Democrats and Republicans, Country music fans and Hard Rock lovers. Rivalries even exist among God’s people because of jealous hearts. God has many people with many different gifts all around the world, and we can become territorial instead of thankful when his kingdom is advancing. Today, Jesus reminds us his work is carried out elsewhere too. The Lord’s Ministry is More than Us. Our sermon today is based on Mark 9.

Today we look at the character of humility. Jesus was willing to go to a cross, and in his life didn't look down on people, especially children in context. James reminds us to put humility into practice of our Christian living. Our major focus of the day is from the book of Numbers with a family conspiracy against Moses.

Today we wrap up our series on Christian financial stewardship. The focus is on the legacy of the giver. Think about that...you and I have a chance to shape the future on earth long after we are with the Lord in eternity. How would we go about doing that?

Could you imagine not putting anything on your calendar for a month? There would be missed appointments, double-bookings, and all kinds of confusion. It would be a mess. What is true in our schedules is also true with our finances. Without regular attention and intention, disarray and debt will dominate. Today we consider the importance of managing our God-given resources with direction, looking at The Plan of the Giver. Our sermon is based on 1 Corinthians 16:1-2.

Last Sunday we saw the heart of giving is seeing the heart of God in the grace he pours out on us in Jesus Christ. That's why the Macedonian churches responded the way they did in 2 Cor. 8.
Today we take it a step further and see what _generous_ giving looks like. And if God loves the generous giver, how do we know we are generous?
Join us in person at 8:00 and 10:30 am, or on a Monday evening at 6:00 pm.
